You live in albany? Boooo on the pickup array....i find that even a middle single coil impedes alternate picking technique if i dont lower it flush against the pick guard.

Yeah, I was always wondering about your location as "upstate", are you local? If so we should trade shows sometime or something.

The more I look at it I think what this guy did is take a strat, then put 2 humbuckers between the 3 single coils and wired them to their own volume/tone circuit, and put a 2 way (possibly three wtf?) switch to change between the Strat and Humbucker guitar

lol for some reason i always thought you lived in england. Actually i used to live in Rochester, but right now im across the world in Hamamatsu Japan.

Didn't some shortscaler do something similar with 5+ pickups on a strat?

Yeah there was a newish chap posted up a couple of strat type guitars a while back with some ineteresting modifications like that - I thought they looked really cool.
