So, on Craigslist today a Dual Terror popped up for $600, called and asked about cash and trade..... dude said no trade but $500 cash takes it.... He is coming over after work with it so I can check it out.....
What do you all think?..... Was there any issues with the Earlier Dual Terrors?, as I am sure this was bought last yr and probably one of the first runs....

sounds like a pretty good deal... I have not played the dual, but owned the original runf of tiny terrors and it was a great amp. I was actually the first in my area to get one so it was an early production run and I had zero problems. There stuff tends to be engineered pretty well.

I've heard of no problems with the early run of DTs. These are great, great amps. I love my Tiny Terror anyway, and the DT is more of the same, plus more. That's a magnificent deal, so go for it

i played a tt for the first time the other day, the overdrive is really nice. Wasn't impressed by the clean sound, but i guess that's not what they're build for, and the plus 15 watts on the dt might improve the cleans, i guess.

Well this is an upgrade from my Tiny Terror, I FN Love that amp, so more of it and being able to actually gig is good. My Tiny Terror will probably be getting sold for $350ish SOON!!!! If the Dual Terror is as good as he says... He stated its basically new except he took off the handle and put on a fender dog done handle for comfort.... he no longer has the original handle...

right on...thanx Johnny.... I saw that thread when he started it..... I have no doubt that it will kick arse and take names, my only issue was I really do not NEED it (i'm a huge sucker for a good deal) and if there where quality concerns with the first runs.... I know the TT had quality issues on their first runs...but then again the DT is still basically a TT with more bells so I am assuming that they did not run into as many bugs as it is really a TT on roids......
The only issue I have ever had with my TT is that it likes to eat the on/status light bulbs, I go thru about 1 every 3 months....it starts to dim and flicker a bit then burns out....not a huge issue, the bulbs are $1 a peice at RadioShack

I just spent the last hr n 1/2 reading thru the Orange form and it seems like people have more issues with the TT, even on the most recent posts......unless it is just cuz they sell more TT's

The DT's have been out for a while now, I was looking to get one when I bought a Rocker 30 instead - I guess that was at the beginning of the year. I would have thought they'd be stuff up on the web talking about them if they're unreliable, or maybe they haven't sold any.

I'm sure its fine, heading home from work now so I guess I will find out in about 30 min
anyone wanna buy a TT?
All the DT issues I found were from the cheap chinese tubes that come in them..

I might be in for a trade/cash or just cash deal for it. But it'd be closer to Christmas-time, I dunno if you can wait.

ok, Bought it and it FN ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! best $500 ever spent on an amp..... Dude was selling it cuz the local Orange dealer just blew out all their Rocker 30 heads.... $800 brand new in box...so he said he could not resist and bought one....they had 10 and were all gone in one day!! I would have jumped on that too, but glad I did not cuz $300 is $300 and the 7watt mode is perfect for me practicing at home.....
This things TT channel sounds thicker than my TT and it takes my fuzz pedal better too...... and the Fat channel is the sound I have been trying to get out of my TT for a yr and a 1/2!

Glad you've joined the DT clan

they really are amazing amps. so good that nearly half the new thunder 30 is actually the dual terror circuit. i've craved an orange since the doogfest II, thom's rockerverb sealed the deal, just went about it the long way round. i've been able to throw any style or sound at it and it just laps it up. like a twat, i forgot my pedalboard wallwart and just plugged straight into amp. boy oh boy fuck needing my TS9 just kick out the jams. i've not had any problems with mine so far, apart from it's early morning and i want to play it now!
the rocker 30's are now discontinued, so i'm better they'll be loads of bargain deals on them.

yeah, ur right..... ts9 not needed, I think the only pedals I will need now are my Big Muffs, phaser and my wah...... I think it is time to try to pawn off alot of my pedals....I got like 11 dirt boxes

Catalinbread, Fulltone, ZVex, and built by me...lol... I was always trying to find the pedal to give me the tone the Fat Channel nails....

that sounds like a lot of us and its great you managed to find that tone you crave. Wait around and get enough posts and I bet there will be enough people around here that will snap those pedals off you. After yours and PRA's recent experiences I'm really considering trying either these or the new Thunder30 out

Well, when I was looking in the new market the Thunder 30 was in the running too..... no doubt..... but there was 3 things that steered me away...
1) the clean channel is basically just the Vol Knob so to get "my" clean (super warm with a little break up, something to flavor my fuzzes) I may have had to run it louder than I wanted for 1am urges to play(and I cannot stand solid state practice amps)...cuz all of us know 7watts running 1/2 way is still loud.... I have had old tube amps like this before one was 15watts and one was 30w and they both seemed like they would be full volume by 3 and just be adding break-up past that point.... I am not sure if the TH30 is like this cuz I got to good of a deal to find out
2) All the reviews and sound clips I have found on the TH30 say its more suited to rock at full/ Higher Gain; that it has a little more gain than a Rockerverb and its mid-gain sounds was decent/good but not Rocker 30 awesome....I found my sweet spot on the TT around 2 /3 gain...That's mid gain and I have no urge to play metal and scoop my sound...If I do high gain its a wall of fuzz and Muffs are scooped too.
3) the fact it is $1200 and will be impossible to find a deal in the used market

same here really, i think the only thing that i wouldn't of minded would be an FX loop on the DT. but it wasn't worth going for the thunder over the DT. i've tried delay in front of the amp and it's not that bad with the amp drive. just gotta tweak it. if i really wanted to, i'd get a blender pedal and a 100% wet delay. mix it till it sounded good.
my slight gripe is how big the orange foot-swtich is. it's fucking huge. might rehouse it into something smaller. or get mike to make me one.

I am gonna build myself an orange footswitch myself...I will be doing it this weekend, I just have to figure out how to wire up the 3dpt....as I think the Orange ones use a dpdt.... I like to work with the parts I have on hand.... so basically a free footswitch..... There are gut shots of one on Oranges forum and gut shots of one some dude made, I refuse to spend $35 when I can make it and paint it with what I have, and size it how I want
