Anyone here play with Reso Glass ?

Post by Rox »

I as checking out the Eastwood Airlines and stumbled upon a company that does the old school fiberglass guitar bodies . And price wise it doesn't seem that bad . Anyone here ever build a fiberglass guitar like the old Nationals or Valcos ? Look and sound pretty fucking cool if you ask me .

One day I might have a bash at that.

I've seen those before and been tempted but at that price I'd need a spare neck lying around, and that never happens.

ImageI jammed with an old friend last night and he brought one of those, same color, sans pickguard. Beautiful guitars.

(edit: my friend's was an authentic Supro Dual Tone, I didn't even notice that the pictured one is a repro kit that they're selling....they seriously got that dead on.)

They just send you the body Nick, completely undrilled and unrouted. The hardware, electronics, neck and pickguard are up to you (though they do sell the hutto guards).

Yeah I got that, though it does look like they route the neck for "standard size" by default. I was just saying that one in particular had me really fooled since I saw an original last night.

Oh snap, didn't realize that pic came from them, thought it was the one you saw last night.
