My Broncos!

My Broncos!
Hi everyone!
This is my second post, I've been watching and reading for about 2 years and decided it was time i finally joined.
I got into shortscales through Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys, i saw a black bronco in a pawn shop and being a diehard AM fan, i had to get it. This was my first Bronco and shortscale, it is a black 1978 Bronco which someone had modded for two pickups and a three way switch. The original pickup was in the neck and a dead Lace Sensor was in the bridge. I took it to Sydney guitar setups with a '69 Strat pickup and got the electronics cleaned, the original put back into the bridge and the strat pup in the neck and got it nicely setup. It remains my favourite guitar, the neck is fully worn in and is a lot rounder than most necks I've played. I've seen people mention baseball necks around here, I think this may be what they're referring to. I know you'll all want pictures so you'll either have to find them on one of my social networking sites or teach me how to upload.
Next, I'm not sure if it was ever mentioned on here, I bought an untouched 1967 Bronco from ebay. It literally looks like someone left it under their bed and rediscovered it and sold it. It has the trem arm and original case and the only marks on it are from me. It cost a fair bit, more than everyone here would say it's worth, but i just couldn't go past it. To be honest, I don't really like the feel of it, and it's a lot quieter than my '78, but i do like the vibrato... and the smell:) I don't play it much and now kind of see it as an investment for my kids to sell one day (I'm only 20, so that'll be a while now).
After that, I bought one of those little tweed Bronco Amps. It's only solid state and i think they used to make them around the 1980-90's but I actually really liked the sound, the look and it was cheap considering it's not a common amp and is US made. I like it so much, i also bought a cream one...
Next I saw a Bronco hybrid thing on eBay, and being a compulsive buyer when it comes to guitars, i had to have it. It's a 1968 Bronco neck on a 1978 Musicmaster body. With a fender generic hardtail bridge (without whammy) and a lipstick pickup with black pickguard. The body is a deep woody red colour, that i got told was a custom colour, but i'm yet to clarify this. I like it better than my '67 but again i don't like the neck anywhere near as much as my '78. It has a different sound and I like it as an alternative to my '78.
I've always wanted a shortscale bass for my personal recordings, and if i could get anything, I'd love a vintage orange Mustang bass, but thats just fantasy. About a week ago I bought a red Squier Bronco bass, my first bass! I'm waiting for that in the post.
And the reason I finally joined was because of that Bronco/Jagmaster thingy someone posted a link to. I won the auction but didn't meet the reserve so I'm negotiating a price.
All this has happened in the last 2 years. I've been in a few bands and am currently studying audio engineering and i record my own stuff as a hobby. I've got a few other guitars, but I fear being kicked off if I mention them on the Shortscale section! Oh and I still love Arctic Monkeys but my Bronco love started there and has taken on a mind of it's own. I'm not particularly a fan of Jaguars, I've only played reissues mind, but looks wise i really only fancy B&B vintage models. I've only played a couple of mustangs, one vintage one reissue and they were just alright. I'm sure i could learn to love them. I really like the look of Duo-sonics, but I'm yet to play one and I don't mind Musicmasters but i love the bridge pickup on any guitar so they're not really my type sonically. (Even though i basically have one, it is sometimes nice for a change). I was seriously considering getting one of them Squier CV Duos, but due to recent Bronco bass and other stuff, I'll have to wait a bit. Some of you have probably seen some of these guitars on ebay as thats where I got all but one of them.
So that's my Broncos and I. I'm sure everyone will want pictures, and I have read instructions on how to post them ages ago and took none of it in. If theres a really easy way of doing it, someone let me know and I'll get onto it. I was also thinking about making a Shortscale twitter account if anyone would be interested? Could be an idea for a bit of fun. I would post photos and links etc...
It's a relief to finally be on here, I always said I'd get around to joining...
