This is one of the best guitar tones I've ever heard. But it's hard to get that kind of tone without forking out for an Orange head too loud for me to realistically play in my apartment.
Some Sunn amps seem to do a similar thing. Orange/Matamp seems to get ignored by a lot of modelers which annoys me. There is the Oxford, though it's quite pricey for "One amp model" and I'm unsure it gets quite that doomy.
The Tiny Terror is sort of similar but not quite the same for me.

yes, that's a delicious clip. dude posts over on stonerrock.com.
I'd suggest the Earthquaker Devices Monarch for that chewy OR preamp tone (or the OLC Orange Peel, or....). But a lot of that is also power tube distortion, and power sag sounds pretty similar amp to amp.. You're not going to get that in a pedal. DAM Sonic Titan maybe?
Check out a Matamp MiniMat? Five watts with a built-in attenuator and line out. Decently priced if you're in the UK. Still a pretty good deal outside of it.
Do a search for kim's thread on boris tone too, she had a pretty similar dilemma.

I looked at the Matamps but I had no idea how much they cost. If there's a 15 Watt model that's not too pricey I might consider it. 5 isn't too useful for me.
Power Tube distortion is a bit of a problem here, which is why a modeler would be ideal, or something with a wattage switch.
I'd consider the TT more if it had an effects loop and/or Reverb.

I can't in good conscience recommend a modeller for power amp distortion (although I have noodled around on the GuitarRig orange model). I would go with whatever cheap valve amps are prevelent in your area (sovtek, peavey, laney, traynor, or any locally banged out ones, downunder that would be jansen, wasp, holden) or one of the mini-amps that have been so popular of late, with whatever wattage you can handle cranked all the way up and stick a Monarch into it. What amp are you using now?
Small amps with effects loops: Laney VC15, Egnator Rebel, Blackstar HT-5?
Check out the tone in the proguitarshop Monarch demo around 3:00 onwards. I think that into a cranked pair of el34s will do the job well enough.

Generally lower wattage tube amps sound even less like their larger model counterparts than a modeler. Modeling has come a long way and you'd be hard pushed to pick out an Axe FX in a recording.
I had a Vox AC4TV for a while, though it was sort of a similar tone there was something about the dynamics I didn't like, and it was kind of dry. The cleans on my Lunchbox were just as good too.

Having listened to some clips, it seems the Monarch is the best pedal for the job. It has a kind of a fuzz pedal like harshness almost that the newer orange amps lack, as does the Tech 21 pedal. I like the way it's meant to get saggier as you turn the Bass up too. I think it about nails it.

We are talking Orange and Matamp?
All that shit is EXPENSIVE.
I'm not really aware of any 'clones' or amps that aim for that type of sound, which is a shame considering the whole doom/stoner obsession over such amps (sunn too y'all).

Here's an old shot of the guitarist from Zoroaster. Lots of Orange/Matamp/Electric Amp all over the fucking place. Shit was so loud it began to sound like i was underwater - a sea of RIFF.
motherfuckin word. You can buy like 3 to 5 small tube amps for the price of a tiny terror combo.

If I ever get around to putting my own clone amps together, i def want to see how cheap I could make an Orange/Matamp type of thing.

Electric amp is run by a bunch of cocksuckers excuse my french.
I wrote them a very pleasant email and got the worst response possible full of snobbish comments and constant use of the 'f word'.
I suggest Ceriatone, possibly an old Ampeg V4 or anything else of that variety.
Another hidden gem, though more a Marshall flavour, the Laney AOR series. They. Slay.

I'd love to try out a Laney amp; they don't seem to be too common around here.
