Some guy is selling this on The Bay and has no idea what it is worth. I bet with a new set of strings it will work fine

This could be a steal for someone. thought I would pass along. I hate being poor.

Sounds like the guy doesn't want to answer questions as to its condition and is just letting the market decide?

Oh that's lovely. I wonder what it'll go for?

perhaps, but i've seen a jag for sale a few times that used similar language and it turned out to be of questionable originality... it's a
lot harder/less financially rewarding to fake a coronado, admittedly. maybe i'm just paranoid with things that seem too good to be true.
the price will likely shoot up towards the end anyway, as everyone thinks they're going to nab a bargain, but in reality the entire internet is watching the auction because it's been discussed on 3756 guitar forums.

oops, "let the market decide" should've had the sarcasm quotes round it. I'm equally cynical but I love a good bidding war.
Looking clueless and having a low reserve will get you plenty of interest. As well as avoinding any uncomfortable questions...

What's the money on broken truss rod?
It could be fine of course, but the risk of that sort of thing certainly makes it worth less than it would be otherwise. My guess is it will go for $600-750.

I don't understand why people think this will be that cheap. Plenty of deals have a 'no reserve' and start at 99c, but obviously sell for loads more.
Regardless, I bet it will be 600ish, though it does seem a bit shady.

It finished at $710.
Unless it's a buy it now listing that's why people complain about threads like 'Coronado for $265!'. And of course the only person with any chance at all of paying $265 (ignoring shipping) is the one who's already bid.

didnt want to make a new thread.
25.5" scale. isnt that a bit of a stretch? especially for those of us used to shortscales?

it's the same as a strat, tele, jazzmaster etc.
does anyone really notice a difference? i don't, particularly.

im guessing the stretch is also down to the length of the body right?
so wanting a coronado II right now. convincing myself that a nice condition vintage one is an "investment" so i can splash out.

It's just standard Fender scale.
I played pretty much nothing but my Coronado for a few months and then played an Es-175 and it felt short, but it's the same feeling as being very familiar with a Telecaster and picking up a Les Paul. It doesn't feel at all out of place on either guitar but you can be aware of the difference.

that and the fact that you just blew anyone's chance of getting it for a deal by posting it on the forum and drawing a bunch of attention to it. I understand that people just want to share a killer deal that they found. but it's an auction. it benefits no one but the seller if you announce it on a public forum.

Someone offered me a sunburst coronado ii with check binding and non original case for £950. All great condition. Good deal?

Bit pricey for a standard finish, depends how much you want one. I'd offer him 800.

+1
Here is a standard colour II (cherry red + black headstock, the other standard being sunburst + black headstock) in great condition that sold for £900 shipped on ebay. I'd say for a private deal £850 would be ok. The custom colours tend to go for around £1000.
