I think you can post the picture straight here. They're sort of just new jagmasters.

Not interested but surprised to see the Jazzmaster looking so Jazzmastery. Step in the right direction, nicer ones will follow probably.
They both have the same body so the Jag probably has the Jagmaster conversion neck and the Jazzy has a jaguar horn/knob placement... pity they didn't word harder on that.

photo for people with facebook blocked at work:
and they're not shown on the squier site yet.
while they look like new jagmasters, they appear to use the same Fender methodology of abominating the classic namesakes we all know and love.
from the pictures:
- 2011 Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar HH
- 'Duncan Designed' Humbuckers
- Upper Horn 3-way in place of rhythm circuit
- Chrome Knurled (?) knobs in Vol/Tone orientation
- Hardtail courtesy of ugly six saddle, strat/toronado derived bridge unit
- Strat jack plate placement as seen on ugly ass knock off offsets for years
- 24" scale with rosewood fretboard and classic Jaguar headstock shape
- White-button vintage style tuners
- Fiesta Red with presumably inkjet tort
- 2011 Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster
- Jazzmaster style single coil pickups (?)
- Upper Horn 3-way in place of rhythm circuit
- Chrome Knurled (?) knobs in Vol/Tone orientation
- Hardtail courtesy of ugly six saddle, strat/toronado derived bridge unit
- Strat jack plate placement as seen on ugly ass knock off offsets for years
- 25.5" scale with vintage tinted maple(?) neck/fretboard and classic Jazzmaster headstock shape
- White-button vintage style tuners
- Butterscotch blonde finish with black pickguard/pickup covers
the
jazzmaster is probably the better looking of the two, in that baja sort of fashion. to be honest, the jack, knobs, three-way placement and the bridge are fucking
killing me.

I want to like these, but they look weird. Can't really put my finger on it. Strat input jacks definitely, but there's something else...

I kinda like them, like an even-poorer-mans version of the Blacktop series.
I am VERY poor...

I will definitely own these eventually.
The strat jack is an abomination... that hopefully will change... but god know squire won't waste any money ordering new inputs.
This gives me hope for classicvibe jaguars... or jazzmasters holy fuck

I think we're about to see Classic Vibe Jaguars, Jazzmasters, and an offset Duo Sonic. At least, I hope we will.

Ugh. Good intentions but they look so bad
Strat jack is awful. Plain and simple
The bridge looks odd for some reason, maybe if it was a more accurate version of a duosonic bridge. Switch placement is whatever.
I'm sure lots of people have been wishing for squires with the jazzjag trem but I can appreciate the hardtail idea (moreso than the strat term on a jagmastsr) but I think what would have looked great would be a sg Jr wraparound
They should come up with some cheap Duncan designed jag pickups
But the maple neck on the jazz is tight
What's the street price expected to be?

No more than $300 - $350 is my guess.

Why would they come out with this when they just came out with the blacktop series? I mean why spend $300-$350 on these when with just a little more you can get a blacktop JM or Jaguar? Besides the strat inputs, I like the way it looks with the 3 way switch on the bottom instead of the top. Just a personal preference though.

The strat jack makes the least sense. I can't think of any reason why they choose to do that.

Yeah it would have been more cost effective to mount it on the sp like the Jazzmasters.
These designs are disappointing for Squier in my opinion.

Ugh.
Okay, I defended the Blacktop Jag, but these are fucking horrid. There is like nothing there that's "Jaguar" anymore.

You can probably score a used Blacktop JM or Jaguar for what these are going to sell for if they're priced like most of the current Vintage Modifieds. Maybe they'll occupy the same pricing as the Jagmaster ($280).

haet strat jack. However, I might have to hide my guitar center credit card from myself when these come out.

Also, is the jaguar replacing the jagmaster? Cause otherwise it's just a hardtail jazzmaster with a stupid strat jack.
