Really exciting, and at a great price point too. As long as it's not just splatty fuzzes (and I speak as a fan of splatty fuzzes).

For now the cartridges designers will be focusing on Fuzz, Distortion, Overdrive, and Boost fx, but there is the possibility of expanding into other kinds of fx in the future!

I'm sorry guys, i maybe missing something here but i dont find this exciting. Its like an alternative Line 6 Tonecore based on gain devices with limited cartridge availability. "Possibility for future effects" fair enough.
The promotional video (is that what is?) is also attrocious. Based on Devi's building skills and innovation i'd expect better. NOT SOLD.

I'd really need to see this in action to decide if I'm sold or not. It really comes down to build quality and 'fiddlyness' of controls.

I wonder if restricting the effects to the same pot values across the board will limit it's functionality.

I am certain that if this is going to work, the right people are behind it though. Also very nice to see people thinking laterally instead of churning out the same old stuff.

If it's a success, I'd like to see a 'mangler' version with a joystick

I think I'll approach with caution.

How is having the two effects as cartridges going to have any benefit over just having them both as pedals? Other than maybe portability I guess... am I missing something?

Dude. You own a custom built Matamp. WTF can gain effects like this offer you other than making your amp sound like a bag of shit? If you wanna fuck your sound up just circuit bend some pedals. The sound you have is already is untouchable.

I think it just looks bloody fun. made me think of my old master system which I wasted many an hour on back in the day, and forget everything else, it means that once you have it you can try out normally expensive pedals for cheaps and swap with friends and stuff.

It's a great forward thinking idea and one I didn't see coming.

I'm not saying it is the most practical thing in the world or the solution to everything but sometimes music and fx should just be fun.

I agree with benecol though..do not want just a million different fuzz cards!

Malekko are known for their excellent modulation effects. I think there's going to be more to this than just fuzz.
At any rate, this is an bop yourself in the head, "how has no one thought of this before" good idea.

Opens up premium/small builder pedals to a whole new market.
$50 is less than an xbox title and I almost always manage to justify buying more of those...

Really? Is this on a specific forum or worldwide? Never heard of them. Who uses them?

Oh, I'm not aware of who uses them outside of bands and people I know personally but I'm very much a fan of their delays. Particularly the Ekko 616.

In the Effector 13 video, it's mentioned that one of the builders (I forget which one) has expressed an interest in making a "non fuzz" effect, so here's hoping that others follow suit.

'Holiday in Cambodia' impresses me although the arpeggios were wrong.
Not having a go at you personally dude, i'm just a bit bored of all these 'boutique effects' that are now available. It seems if you have half a brain and a soldering iron you can build expensive effects. In contrast some guys on here build excellent effects and are humble about it charging good prices.

Fair enough and no personal offence taken. I have zero electronics skills, so I'm thankful that there are people out there doing this stuff.
I agree that there are hideously overpriced, hype machine products in the boutique equipment world. If you've ever read any of my posts regarding boutique amps, you already know how vitriolic I can get about that.

Personally, I see this particular idea as kind of an exit ramp off the overhyped, overpriced mediocre boutique effects highway.
At $50 a pop, people won't think twice about calling a horse a horse.

Seems like a fairly cool and novel idea, if maybe a little too aesthetically-driven. Total opposite end of the spectrum to the ZVex Inventobox and it's massive tweakability, but if the cartridges prove to be very affordable, may well shift a lottttttttttt of units.

Those Cartridges and mounts look like they'll be crushed to smithereeeeeeeeens.
