Pigtronix Keymaster - expression pedal ?

Edit: I ended up answering some of my own questions from my original post so thought I'd update this for the benefit of others.

Hi all,
Pigtronix Keymaster works perfectly with the Boss FV-500H pedal using a stereo 1/4 inch cable. The expression pedal can be used to control the crossfade in parallel mode only, not in series.

Effects chains in loop A or B can be faded in or out when only one loop is active. Loop A and B can be crossfaded with a nice degree of overlap. There is some play to emphasize either side through the sweep which is nice. The transition is not abrupt. Not as articulate as a wah pedal though, ... well maybe if you had the right effects in there?

The in and out boosts of the pedal are very transparent and more beneficial than I had thought. I believe that they remain on when the loops are disengaged. The loops are still true bypass but the overall signal remains boosted.

Pedals with a mix level may be better suited to make them more prominent in the mix. Kind of like through some amplifier parallel effects loops. Running a few of your favourite pedal combos in series and then in parallel can give you some new sounds from the same gear.

My Keymaster was moded from the Manufacturer to include a phase switch. I think this may help in some cases but those would be rare. I have noticed that with the phase switched I get a volume drop out at the center of the crossfade using the expression pedal. So maybe it could help correct that problem or offer an alternate curve of crossfading.

Hope this helps someone out there. I'll post a proper review after I've done more experimenting. Just wanted update here as I'd ended up answering the questions I had posted on this forum.

Bump - more of an early review now than previous confused fumblings.
