Psyched for Neo mistress and the new memory man looks pretty great. Though, it will be interested to see how it sell. Most people going for 'Memory Man' tone go for the big box older models as they have some mysterious chip. This seems like a DMB, but blue?

Only over a year late...

That talking machine thingy looks interesting. Is that a a guitar pedal meant to emulate vowel sounds? Should be fascinating. Also, the Neo Mistress looks brilliant. I mean it looks really nice. Colourful and cool.

I was just saying to my brother yesterday that there hadn't been a new EHX pedal announced for at least a few months, and it was feeling strange.

IDK, not sold on the EHX stuff. I'm interested in the Neo Mistress and possibly the Tap Tempo DMM but nothing spectacular this year. You can't always have a home run though, ya know?

Well I'll wait until I see some videos of the talkbox stuff and the price for the Neo Mistress.

aye, i've been searching about for a DMM for a few weeks now, and as much as those deluxe memory boy/man things look good, it feels like i'd be cheaply ripping myself off, considering if i looked hard enough I could probably find a used DMM for a similar price.

That said, it's so tempting to bite the bullet with one of the newer models.

Yea, it's always that "special chip" or "vintage tone". I'm not saying that the older boxes aren't better but I think the hype machine definitely drives people towards the vintage or overpriced pedal cloners (D*A*M, Analogman, etc.). The one looks great and has tap tempo. Definitely on my wish list.

Indeed, my previous post is really an example of this 'hype machine' type stuff. The newer MM pedals have a lot more features and would be more usable in that sense, but it's almost liberating going back to older pedals with not a lot of different features. Almost like plug and play, with good tones.

I hope i'm not coming across as a toff. My board suggests completely otherwise.

Soundcloud audio file of synth through EVENTIDE SPACE pedal. Heard better clips of shimmer on other pedals. Will be nice to hear more demos. Hope it has a decent set of delays without reverb. That would put it at the top of my list for a new delay.

Nice to see the features of the Memory Boy added to the Memory Man. The MM just sounds better than the MB or Hazarai models. EH do have the most direct way of accessing presets. As stated in the post above, more features isn't always better though.

With the delay pedals from EH, Strymon, Eventide, Malekko, and Empress I may finally be tempted enough trade up my T-Rex Replica.

Seriously, Boss need to realise it's not the 80s any more (despite what fashion thinks), and do away with the ROCK STAR aesthetic to all of their videos; it's like they got an excitable 14 year old boy to design them.

" Then then then we'll have some like.. STAGE LIGHTS! And a wall of big guitar amps next to some METAL! And then the guitar guy will be all like BREEEOWWWWWMMMWIDDLEWIDDLEWIDDLE with his big pedals and spiky guitar!"

I keep half-expecting it to turn into a porn film or something, the set is so cheesy. But I guess that's their market; people who are impressed by such tedious stereotypes and generalisations.

I feel like they may have just reached a point where someone said, "Hey, what can we do try and not shift a million units of this? JUST KIDDING WE WILL MOVE THEM NO MATTER WHAT BECAUSE WE ARE BOSS!"

We all also may have become spoiled in this era of easily-accessible product demos. I've seen plenty of occasions where someone has put together a well-though-out demo that spans eight minutes or so and that's still not good enough for some whiny YouTube monkey. Remember when all you had to go on was some blurry concert photos or a quick interview in some shitty guitar mag? Ah, the good ol' days.

But the Boss demos do absolutely blow.

In the GR 55 video I liked it when the normal looking guy from the IT department started playing chops with a saxophone setting, amongst all the showey bellends. Great.
