What would a good string gauge be for a 65RI Mustang, if someone is used to heavier gauges?
I have my jazzmaster strung up with 11s, and I want a similar feel on the Mustang.
Should I use 12s? Also, would I have to adjust the vibrato much after going up two gauges? I believe this thing has 10s on it, or maybe even 9s, as they are way too slinky.

In my fairly limited experience, one gauge up on a short scale feels right. I tried 12s with a wound G on my Jaguar when I usually roll with 10s on my Telecaster and it was too much; 11s feel perfect.
