stripes.. & strat?

Post by serfx »

so i was reading through this thread
and was like, fuck i wish my strat had a stripe or two..,
i mean i don't usually rock a strat

but i had picked up a squier strat with noiseless pickups in it back in november and it sits pretty much in my living room so i noodle around on it a little bit..
anyways..
i taped it off, grabbed a can of black spray i had sitting around from when i was last working on some zero cool stuff
and..
here are the pics.

so i traded a buddy of mine last night for his black strat guard to go on this
i put back on the cream noiseless pup covers
second tone pot is still connected, and set to where i like it
whoever had put in the noiseless pickups (before i bought it) did a fucking horrible route job to make it a swimming pool route,
kinda confused as it was orig routed for HSH but whatever, maybe they had HHH in it for a bit, who knows
here are the updated pics

i still haven't played around to much with this bullet strat, the neck needs a fret dress as the ends are pretty sharp, but i may have a better neck to put on it, i just need to pull the one off the cyclone i'm working on.

That looks pretty good.. close colors, but anyways.

Are there that kind of angled (mustang comp stripish) stripes on stratocaster?

never seen a stock strat with comp stripes, but i'm sure that there are many people who have done it.

I wanted close colours make it kind of a "stealth" stripe, that and the only other spray i have at the moment is red, and that just screamed a no go for me.
