My guess is the Dakota is trying to match the original Mustang colour that was just called 'red' and fiesta is what the basses came in later on. Though I don't remember anything about Fiesta Red Mustang Basses.
Hmm.
Just buy a matching comp orange set instead.

So Mustangs originally came in "Red" like the Broncos ? "Dakota Red" wasn't a Mustang color?

James was saying he didn't think fiesta was ever a Mustang color, I think. I've wonder about the fiesta, too. Also the Jaguar bass is fiesta.

Unless you're just hanging them up in the living room as furnishings to impress people who come round for ulterior purposes, or plan on having your bass player/guitarist play one onstage while you play the other, there's really no such thing and/or any reason for a matching guitar/bass set. Not to knock aforementioned exceptions, both are pretty cool at the end of the day.

"Bronco" Red is not as dark as Dakota Red but darker than Fiesta Red. It's kinda it's own color I believe.
Fiesta Red is amazing and the color of my soon to be finished Musicmaster guitar.

hot rod red was a gorgeous color. I got compliments on how great of a color it was almost every time I played it . . .
you really have see it in person to appreciate it though.
