Schematic to diagram conversion?

Can anyone answer a foundational question about schematics? Most of my experience is with Fender, so I am more familiar with pictorial wiring diagrams than with schematics, that seem to have a different layout for the parts. As with everything else that is technical, there is a divide between engineering and the rest of us.
Gretsch and Rickenbacker tend to use schematics. I am trying to piece together a Rick 360 12 using a schematic. I think I managed to convert it to a diagram by assigning locations for things according to where they attach to the pickguard. I get the feeling that only three people in the world can fix those brands!
The problem is that I can't tell if I have the left to right order set up when I flip the guard over. I am pretty sure this wiring will make it function, but not sure if it is what Ric intended. Any idea?
