I'm gonna get one regardless, cause i'm getting it for 20 bucks and like what i hear on demos.
Just curious as to what other people think of it.
It's obviously a shit-name, but who cares.
Seems like a modded Kurt pedal, but with plenty of variety on top
is it based on something previous to the DOD version?
etc
wee

digitech bought the DOD designs and rights to most of their pedals....its pretty much the same company.....

One of these was given to Kurt and he is said to have HATED it with a passion...... for $20 what the heck thou...

they are harsh and very ice picky

I would just get a Big Muff for the grunge sound

I've had the Digitech version and the DOD FX69b (whateverthehecktheBmeans?), and wouldn't bother unless you're just bored and have the 20 bucks to blow. I never noticed much, if any difference between the two, even when A/B'ing them.

They're fun to play through every once in awhile, but it's just not a sound I go for often.

I actually rather like my DOD version. Can't say It's anything special or that I use it much, for that matter but it makes for very decent 'chugga-chugga' pedal and it's excellent for Al Jourgensen/Gibby Haynes vocals.

It's like a gained-to-shit Big Muff. The gain knob has absolutely no effect on the sound.

Use the case but swap in an envelope filter circuit.

i understand why kurt hated it to. its a piece of crap!

Probably more the fact it was a hideous, vapid cash-in-attempt by DOD concerning something they clearly didn't understand the affinities of.

I think it's the other way around, DOD created DigiTech. That's why old DigiTech pedals have DOD footswitches. I think it was created originally as their high-end brand then later was just made their primary brand.

He was the original engineer who later sold the company to Harman International. The engineer now runs a company called Rolls Corporation. DOD now stands for "Division of Digitech".

A quick bit of research shows Harman owns Digitech. Hahha, it's hilarious that they came up with a new acronym so they could keep the established brandname, haahha.

Jarrod is right, the Harman corporation bought DOD from David Oreste DiFrancisco and changed it's acronym to "Division Of Digitech", and I think Digitech compacts started coming out around the same time as the tail-end of DOD hence the shared footswitches. Digitech had previously been digital rackmount stuff, their floor units were mostly multiFX and whammies.

One of my brother's first spoken phrases ever was "oh me dod" when stuff fell over, probably aiming for "oh my god".

I'm not sure what you mean here. what tail-end of DOD? you mean immediately after DOD's purchase by harmon?

I'm kind of hoping for a metal sound, as my metal zone up and and bit the dust. so, i think i'll be happy.
Playing metal again lately has helped my guitar playing alot.

The B is not for bass, it's just a revision #, and most of the time with DOD products it was seriously just like a renaming of controls or different graphics that made the pedal a different version.

The Bass Grunge pedal they made was the FX92:

The FX55 Supra Distortion goes to C, not to mention the GFX-55C (EXTREME), which technically may count as a 4th variant.
