For what it's worth I think these were ridiculously expensive for what they were, and uninspired. I use the past tense because it was a very limited run and they're now all sold.

Yeah, at half the price, they'd have been pretty cool... but at $1k, for a "stripped down" instrument, it was ridiculous.

A Stratosonic . Sweet fucking axe . Also came in a double P-90 which I would prefer. There's also a Telesonic which is even nicer .

Actually, yeah they were pretty cool guitars. What happened to them? A rerelase would have been a better option.

And fuck that dodgy neck pocket.

And one where they plugged a spare hole in it because it was from another model with left over parts. Definitely a classy product worth a grand. Well done fender - at least you can identify a market of rich morons when you see one.

Sadly to say they went the way for the Venus , Cyclones and Toronados . And I don't mean Kansas...;-)
Fender always does that . They come out with a cool design that's a little " out of their box " and then the scrap it to go their original status quo .
Not meaning to hijack but they'll discontinue the Toronado calling it a flop and the other day I just saw a Fender T shirt with a Toronado on it . Good enough for a t-shirt , huh ? Gibson too. They'll stop production of a Reverse Firebird ( which people want) and make the Firebird X which is just retarded . But you'll see Reverse F-Birds on their t-shirts . The whole thing is just doopid .

Back on subject ..... If you ever see one of the Strato or Tele Sonics play one . Nice guitar . I want to say that Strato had Blackdoves . Very Jazzy sounding . Nothing like a Strat.
