'83 USA Hamer Special

Post by SKC Willie »

I posted my stang on craigslist, I hate to do it but I need to start moving gear and although the guitar has had a lot of interest here, very little follow through.

anyways, a guy offered a 83 hamer special. I know nothing about these guitars but was thinking a vintage-ish hamer could be a wise trade if nothing else to flip.

Does anyone have any experiences with these guitars?

I do not think that would be any easier to sell than the Mustang..... he is prolly wanting to trade it for a reason, might be trying to move it too with no luck

not worth it. Hamers are hard to sell. The only ones I ever played that were cool were older duo-tones and a hamer USA tele. The tele had been fitted with all Fender hardware and the duotone was just kind of cool for the acoustic tone of it. Those hamer PRs styles are on CL all the time out here for 3-400 and sit there for a long time.

hmm. good to know.

the USA Hamers were listed for over $1,000 on ebay but I straight up asked the guy what he paid and he avoided the question, so that threw up some red flags. I really knew I didn't want to make the trade unless I could flip it for a descent amount.
