NHSCD: Slight disappoint is an understatement

I've been electric-guitar'less for about two weeks now. The weathers been freezing and I been working up a sweat in anticipation as I haven't owned a Jazzmaster since 2006. I got the AusPost card in the mail today. Went there to collect. Came home... ripped open the box... and guess what?

Happy New Hard Shell Case Day... I guess!

No flipping key!

I have a hardshell case sitting in my lounge room that's unable to be opened and I'm itching to give it a trashing but don't want to break the locks! I got it from another Shortscaler so I'm just waiting for him to reply / wake up but man oh man what a disappointing day today has turned out to be! It was crap till I got the card, then I got myself excited for reason of the guitar and now...

I don't know how to pick locks

I was always the type who'd jump fences instead of trying to unlock doors

I watched a couple YouTube clips and they were no help either :(

I did the whole bobby pin thing and failed miserably. I'm not a very good at this type of thing tho so I'm probably doing it wrong.

Just jam random luggage keys and bits of metal in until it turns. Get creative.

Locks are a joke. I can start my car with a dime.

All solved, took it to a friends house who had CS keys for his Tele case and they worked perfectly! :)

Woot.

You could've used a knife the ply the metal ring over the edge keeping it closed.
