Hey shortscale, I can't figure this out.
Very odd digital sounds coming from my tube amp. It's a Peavey Delta blues 210. I had my guitar plugged into only the amp. I think I need new tubes, but is there something else that's going on in there?

Sounds wild. Does the amp go nuts completely independent of the volume controls?
Perhaps it's a microphonic preamp tube. I see the amp has three 12AX7 and four EL84 tubes, the 12AX7 being the preamp guys. Try tapping on one of the 12AX7s and see if it has any effect on the noise; if so, it's time to replace the one(s) causing the trouble.

Yeah it goes nuts regardless of the volume. My first reaction to hearing that was turning the volume all the way down, but it persisted. Turning the amp off is the only solution.
I tried tapping on them to see if I could hear any noise, but nothing happened. It freaked out on my a few times, with the volume rolled down to 0. After switching it back on within 5 seconds of the squeals, I noticed the EL84s were glowing blue. One of them slowly started to glow orange, and got super bright.
I read somewhere that these amps don't need all the tubes plugged in to work correctly. If I pull out the bad one, do you think it will harm the amp?
EDIT:
That didn't work at all. I pulled out the crazy glowing tube and I got no sound. The tubes didn't glow and no power was given to the speakers.
But after I put the tube back in and turned it on, I didn't get any noises. I started to play a new song that I just learned yesterday and things were going well. Until I accidentally hit my low E string. Then I heard a new clatter and immediately shut the amp off. This sound was like I threw the amp down the stairs and the spring reverb broke after bouncing off walls and steps. With the amp shut off, I looked around back to see if I could see any differences with the tubes. Just a little glow from the bottom. But I did smell burning. Looks like I need to take this in to a technician. I hate this.
