This hole has threading and ends with a plastic bit. Is there a missing part because my trem arm falls out easily.

there's supposed to be a grub screw. it pushes the plastic bit which tightens against the arm.

Do you know anywhere I can buy a grub screw? Do I hit the hardware store?

You need a camera with a MACRO setting. That Kodak Brownie isn't cutting it...

I had a Mustang with no plastic left on that screw and when the trem arm turned it totally scored a ring around the arm. That kept it super secure without much tightening

I'm relatively new to electric guitars and close to no-tech by nature. Had my old Mustang two years now and never even noticed this screw. so let me see if I got it right...
That little screw on the end of the chrome tube is supposed to tighten down against the end of the trem arm, after the end of the trem arm is inserted into the hole on top of the chrome tube?

I think it's only on the vintage ones, it's slightly different on the MIJ guitars.

Im guessing this is a reissue? if so finding the screw should be easy.
mine is a vintage mustang, i had to search ebay for the replacement, not having that screw is a major pain in the ass, the arm is all wobly and im sure it doesnt work as smooth as it should.
