U2 effects 360 tour

Post by ploppy »

Does anyone know what effects the edge is using on the beginning of "Vertigo" from the dvd of the 360 tour - right at the beginning before bono shouts UNO DOS TRES etc he appears to strum a chord which then changes to a siren type sound.
Anyone know what it is? Whammy pedal?

Agreed.

Sounds pretty cool - a bit pointless though, maybe some kind of oscillating delay maybe?

Sounds like something that generates feedback, like a Boss Superfeedbacker Distortion.

HATE U2, mainly because of bono. the edge is cool as fuck but that headset microphone is a massive mistake. who the fuck let him walk onstage wearing that piece of shit

It's just a DS1 with a feedbacker, not worth shouting about.

Check here:

for a list of the gear he used on that tour.

I was rather surprised to see so many Death By Audio pedals in his setup. Maybe one of them does the siren-y sound?
