Turns out the Behringer RM600 Rotary Machine (and no doubt their other high-end DSP-based pedals) isn't a great fan of Yamaha keyboard 12V PSUs. Damn. Looks pretty impossible to work on, too, with SMDs hidden between electrolytic caps. Bummer. That'll blow all the money made on the last gig.

does the battery still work?

try hooking up a 9v battery to check or an ac adapter that has a battery connector?

i blew up a berringer pedal and this method worked........... worth a try!

that sucks. i was gonna try and get you to demo that pedal. there was on the cash generator site for £20

Definitely worth that. I don't know whether to buy again or go upmarket - didn't you have the Boss RT20 at one time?

No, it doesn't. The frustrating thing is that it uses a power converter IC that's supposed to work off 6-32V, but that's front-ended by some pass transistor regulator which is probably what's blown.

i did have the rt-20 which was nice, but 3 things annoyed me. the size, the loss in bypass mode and those lights get a bit sea sick like after a while.

missed that £20 rotary machine and there out of stock till june at most online stores. i've seen the line 6 version for £45 locally, though unsure wether to wait for the behringer or just wait until the line 6 M5 comes out in april/may.

might ask doog for a leslie tone demo from his M9

The Line 6 Roto-machine is supposed to be very similar but have the advantage of switching between fast and slow on a "light" touch, while the Behringer has to be held down for 2 seconds. It needs its own PSU though. Is that new? It's tempting but for me the postage would be stupid, it weighs a ton. In parallel I'm sketching out a partial circuit diagram for the RM600, but it's not easy.
