Never saw Bob with an SG before. Was it his or did he borrow it? These photos are from the Summer of '73 maybe this was after his Les Paul Special fell of the stand and had to be repaired.

His LP special is easily one of my favourite 'celebrity guitars'. It's quite odd to see pictures of him with an SG.

Exactly what I was thinking! haha!
Also, yes, I believe that is a 70's standard.

They played mostly all current gear in their time and they sounded great. Bob also had a post-CBS strat, Peter had an LP Deluxe and an Ovation electric, a Breadwinner I think.

the top picture looks shopped. his arm is all blocky. I didn't see anything around the guitar that seemed obvious, though I didn't look that close.

I'm not denying that. And I'm not denying that fact that he played an SG.
All I'm saying is that it looks like someone took some stuff out of the background to make it a better picture but it looks like they didn't go a very good job.

Look at this photo that was also taken in 1973 at Pauls Mall. The strat looks HUGE!

It is blocky, but could be the result of digitizing a small image with high contrast at the arm.

When they exhumed his body a couple of years ago, they had real trouble opening the casket...
