Wooden iPad case

This probably defies the whole cooling system--well, and the nitro may explode.
But I Googled this after reading some post about making guitar bodies. The thought occurred to me to make one the same thickness and color as a Fender, with the round over. More punk than steam, I guess. But god help me, I like the heft and timbre of a solid body guitar. It's almost a way to re-imagine the iPad as if it were made in the 1930s. Before bakelite, they used wood.
I am doing a similar mental exercise wondering about making my 54 Olds door handles out of wood. When I am dead, they may not even have cars anymore. Why not trick it out the way someone might have, had it not been mass produced? Who wants to rest their arm on a piece of plastic? I could make it out of maple and embed cufflinks or MOP in it. I still want to install a guitar jack in it somehow.
