Came across this used in a local guitar shop . I thought it played pretty sweet and the look is certainly out there . I tend to not care for strats but this one stands out to me . What y'all think ?

i dig it.
as far as strats go, the look is usually generic, mostly cause they're so heavily copied. But there are a lot of really good, fun to play strats out there.
My only problem with them is the placement of the volume knob.
a strat with gibson placed controls would be up my ally. not sure how it would look aesthetically but i don't care!

I had a MIM Fat strat and it sounded the part with a JB in the bridge but I would always knock the pick up selector to the bridge when strumming.... No Longer have cuz of this.... I only do guitars with 3 way togglies now...
My BT JM is much more up my ally...

I really like strats, but I always hit the blade switch when playing. No bueno.

It's probably because I've always played strats and strat styled guitars, but I've never accidentally hit the pickup selector while playing. I do have issues with lower horn toggle switches on other guitars though.

That looks sweet.
I like the strats with the Fender Swinger headstocks:

Dick Dale strat

I like this beetter than the Hendrix signature, and DD actually plays something similar, though a mirror image.

I love Strats even if they are a bit boring to talk about. It's like going on about how great a hammer is.

I want to love strats but I can't play them without hitting the switch and turning the volume down . . .

Because they want to remove the rhythm circuit but can't find one.
The Reverse '68 or whatever it's called is a cheaper version of an American Strat Fender started in the '90s called the Voodoo Strat, which had implicit Hendrix connection ('68 Reverse doesn't), such as his afro-adorned silhouette embossed on the neckplate. It had it's pickups in upside down as well, the body routed that way. The idea was that his string path was replicated on a guitar that would be nicer for righties to play than the Woodstock Strat they did (a lefty strung righty in oly white, see Thom's guitar

).
I was inspired by those guitars when chucking this '70s Classic neck around on swimming pool bodies with custom Warmoth guards as they allow the flipped bridge cutout.

I dislike the three-pickup Strat but I like any configuration of the Stratocaster without the blade switch. That includes the middle toggle switch two-pickup Strat, which I always thought was ideal, since there's no way you can wang that on accident. But I prefer the look of a three-pickup Strat, so I'd probably use two pickups and just get a cheap middle one for looks.
The stupidest thing about Strats is how people are led think the two tone knobs actually control the neck and the mid pickups. They did when the Strat had a three-way switch, but at this point, they don't really. Oh well.
