Starting a Mustang Scratch W/ 65RI to Repro? Difficulty?

I've been browsing these forums as well as OSG for a while now but I have been intensely wondering for a long time now.... With people capable of producing Mustang bodies with an hours time how hard would it really be getting the bulk of a guitar done?

My main goal is to find the easiest way to jump right into tracing & producing a body W/ an already existing Mustang RI? The only way I foresee myself accomplishing such a feate would be to start and have a somewhat desired object as fast as possible such as the main outlined body, with the hope that this would push me enough into actually finishing a guitar from scratch...

What are the most important issues with the Mustang in particular? Perhaps which necks/hardware would fit with the 1965RI's, as well as any other odd quirks that might be of concern with the beginning procedure of putting a scratch body guitar together?

Most importantly any advice on tracing and reproducing the 1965RI bodies in order to get myself invested in a desirable and sexy instrument?

Thanks in advance to anybody who takes time to help me be a more constructive member to society.

What exactly are you planning to do? Exactly replicate a 65RI, or make something a bit different?
The Jagstang I built way back, I traced the outside shape with pencil and paper. Then designed the rest myself. It turned out pretty unique (in a good way)
The easiest way to get the design on paper would be to print one of these templates.
Glue on thin MDF, cut sand, etc, use this to make a good thick usable template. Use template to make guitar.

Allparts make suitable necks, and most other stuff necessary too.

Basically I want more Mustang guitars in more delicious colors! That was something I was wondering, it would be easier to just print the already made templates rather then tracing a guitar? Also, do I have to glue two wood planks together or would I be able to find a piece of wood thick enough?
