Hardwire Polyphonic Tuner

Post by Sloan »

I just noticed that digitech has released a polyphonic tuner in their Hardwire line.
It has a usb connection so you can program custom tunings. Interesting.

I do like the custom tunings thing, but... damn that display looks terrible.

Doesn't look as bad lit up, but still no Polytune.

Yeah, agreed.
The programmability is a really nice feature, but the aesthetics aren't there... perhaps most disappointing, there's no mention of its accuracy or tracking. Those are integral elements of a good tuner.

And at the same price.

The difference comes in the way of customization vs. speed&aesthetic. This wins for customization, Polytune wins on the other side. I don't play a lot of unusual tunings, but I do play an E-e bass... I THINK the Polytune handles it fine, but I'm not entirely certain. If I were playing, say DADADG more regularly, or something like that, I might lean more towards the customization of this one.

I like the display better on this thangalang. I looked up some polytune vids and I don't like how it switches when you tune a single string and i also am not in agreement with the way it displays horizontally.
