In store only and I can't find any that actually have it in stock. Probably one store with one guitar in somewhere, USA

isn't that how much they cost when they first came out, before the fender mass price bump?

Best Buy in Florida always has things for cheaper than the online and GC/MF price.
So those Squiers that cost $349 will be like $250 and The Fender Mustang that costs $939 will be like $650. The last 3 times I went to Best Buy the prices were set like this, so i don't think it was just a sale.

Shit, makes me want to reconsider my squier jazzy purchase. But I better not. AS much as I like these, I do not need to buy anything expensive right now.

I think it's great that when Target bought out Guitar Center they decided they were going to put a stop to haggling and stick to MAP pricing like most other retail chains. Meanwhile Best Buy starts selling musical instruments with the complete opposite business strategy. The few times I've gone into a Best Buy music department in Florida (the stores in upstate NY only sell student level instruments) the salesperson actually came out and told me that if I was interested in anything that price was negotiable.

I can't for the life of me figure out why Best Buy carries instruments, it's such a small market. I wonder how lucrative it could actually be for them.
I was also at Best Buy just last week and they were selling 180g vinyl re-issues of Classic Rock albums for like $15-30 bucks.
It was right outside the instrument area and I was surprised to actually see vinyl records at Best Buy because I have never seen them before at any Best Buy. The only crappy part was that it was all stuff everybody has bought a million times. Like copies of Are You Experienced and things like that most people already own, in several different formats.

I think Best Buy wants to have it's hand in anything that will draw customers in. Their pricing is great for the most part. The only issue is all the ones that carry music (that I have been to) have a relatively small selection. But again, it is one more thing. You 'd be surpirsed at how many cheap Casio keyboards and generic guitars they sold at xmas prior to selling instruments do now they just expanded what used to be a cheap/generic eisle to a whole new department.

damn. my best buy doesn't carry shit for music gear.
classic vibe brand new for $250 is damn tempting. I know brand name stuff usually has a "you can't sell this item for less than this much money" type rule to maintain product value. I thought that is why you don't ever see different prices on guitars. My local music shop will match most sale prices unless it goes below that line, which is usually does.

The Best Buy near me has a music section and the J. Mascis they had was $783.00 . Probably gone by now but not bad for a brand new one.

All of the aforementioned guitars are clearanced and the price drop is funded in full by Fender. These are End Of Life products that are coting us money to just have on the shelf and they need to go. My store is paying about $30k a month in EOL product that is taking up space that new product should be filling that people would rather buy/make us more $
Lady haze almost bought me a 65ri mustang in daphne blue for $659 w/ a $100 gft card at bby instead of the 50s cv but it had already sold.
I love knowing these things ;D

Aren't these being discontinued? No, wait, that was the Thurston Moore JM, I think...
None of the Best Buy stores near me carry music gear, aside from a few keyboards. I was really surprised when someone told me they do. It's a shame really, as it sounds like there are some good deals to be had.

I can't imagine they would discontinue a Fender model is they were coming out with a Squier sig. But I've been wrong a lot recently.

Man if that happened I'd be all over it, that sounds amazing...Fender sure is giving a lot of love to the JM lately.
