Here is a really good deal for a new Comp-stang, which can't be bought here. I dunno.
Abit pricey but at the same time this cannot be bought in Europe or North America.
SEXAY THANG
Opinions? Someone should grab it if I bail due to being broke and having 2 mustangs already... who wants one of mine?
I also just found this and kind of pee'd myself.
vox teardrop

I just realized, a brand new guitar, from Japan, will get smacked triumphantly with custom charges. Probably 150+.
Serfx, do you have any history buying brand new guitars across the border and their customs charges?
I got smacked 55-89 for the two mustangs I got shipped from this board.

That's not a new guitar, is it?
I have bought from the same seller before and the $140 shipping includes the custom costs, as far as I know.
Had no problems whatsoever, received it very quickly.

Your right it is used.
But I don't think that 140 would cover Canadian taxes. They are intense, we are your northern commi neighbours.

But shouldn't the 140 USD cover it is all I'm asking. You should ask the seller, maybe.

While we're talking about the Comp Stang, I've kind of pondered about selling my CIJ Candy Apple Jaguar and buying a white Comp Stang instead. I love the Jaguar, OK, but I really don't care for the sound that much with the SD pickups. I'd rather use Strat pickups, but those look odd in a Jaguar and are often hard to fit thanks to the triangular flange thingy, and besides, I'm starting to feel like the guitar is a bit too heavy for me. In its current state, the Jag would have pretty good resale value, so I don't want to make any changes to it that will probably hurt its value.
I'd sell my blue '65 RI but I've also pondered giving that one as a gift for a friend. I'm not trying to get in her pants, it's just I want to groom her for my shitty punk band. I'd get her something else but I know she likes the Smurf Cobain more than any other guitar I've shown her.
What would you do? Sell the Jag? Sell the Smurf? Forget about the Compstang? Just get a crappy Strat for the friend and keep everything?

I'd sell the Smurtstang, buy the comp, and keep the Jag. Then you have two tonal capabilties.
Maybe give your friend a modded Strat in the colours of the Smurfstang, she may not know much anout guitars and find a pretty guitar a substantial gift regardless of the name on the head stock you know?
I wanna sell one of my Mustangs, I have a 90s Classic series thats closer to a 69RI that I adore. The neck is heaven on earth, its basswood, and the pickups are weak, but I love it. I am starting to get on with the Mustgwar, but I want a compstang. UGH.
I think I'll keep it in my pants and just get a vintage compstang or something eventually. Or a new orange one if I go to Japan.
As for the Tear drop Vox, the guy said he'd take 850... haha wooo 25 bucks off!

I actually wasn't hit with customs charges on my order from ProGuitarShops last summer.
I have been hit with ~$150 Customs charges for both my Jazz Bass and Twin Reverb coming from the States, however. (Which were both eBay purchases)

I'm wondering if I can flip the Vox for a good price.
I see some Phantoms and shit selling for 2000+ on completed listings. But maybe the Mark VI isen't as good or valuable?

Ishibashi has put this on sale,
buy it now before someone else beats you to it!
I thought that I might be able to give you an idea what to expect in terms of Canadian customs. I bought a similar one from them last month:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... K:MEWNX:IT
I had to pay about $140 in taxes/duty to Canada Post, on top of the $140 shipping fee.
Hope this helps.

it generally depends on how or who it is shipped with and what they have written down, i've paid upwords of $85 in border fees for some things (jaguar) paid nothing for others (brostang, mustang etc..) just got hit with a $23 charge from fedex for a neck i bought on ebay that cost me $61 bucks.
so it is really all up in the air.

I really hate how odd it is, I want to have solid tax rules on that shit uno?
Well there is this...

That does help, thanks alot. I just realized after playing guitar for a good hour upstairs, that I have to mustangs that are very sonically similair. There is no need to buy another. I am just gonna make one my bitch, and put single coil humbuckers and shit inside em and make it sound different. With shipping and possible 100+ duties charges, the guitar will come out to over 900, I kind of can't afford that even if I sell a guitar.
I will own a Japanese or Vintage Orange Comp-stand eventually. For now I must focus on skill and maybe a new amp.
