PN-2 aternative?
I'm looking to get that spaceman 3/spiritulized tremolo effect that they get from a vox repeat percussion or a boss PN-2 but I don't want to spend the money on a 2nd hand beat up PN-2 but wondered about an alternative. Does the Behringer clone do that staccato sound as the Boss does? Is there anything else that can do it? Someone in a shop recommended the MXR tremolo and I tried the Boss TR-2 but no joy there. any ideas?

I was looking at the hummingbird and it looks decent. I might speak to Benecol thenFran wrote:Benecol had a 'Hummingbird' pedal that did the Vox thing. He should be able to point you in the right direction

Although his anti graphics diatribe is a bit lame.

thanks for the tips guys, it seems that those pedals are about the same cost as an old PN-2. Time to see what to stick in the classifieds then I think

To throw another name into the ring, Christian at Magnetic Effects http://magneticeffects.net/ does great things with the Repeat Percussion circuit, including combining it with switchable fuzz. The neatness and build quality of his effects are something to behold. Also the enclosures are powdercoated black for classiness!
He's also selling schematics. That in itself isn't so terrible but I'd be willing to bet that they were mostly acquired for free.Mike wrote:This guy does one for $130
