I'm sure this was basic music college 101, but I've forgotten completely;
I want to solder up my own sets of patch cables, preferably using these fancy "flat" plugs I've found cheeps, but they're stereo. I take it if the signal being carried is of a mono nature that this makes no actual difference? And the stereo plugs are fine?

stereo/mono plugs?

It will just work as though the stereo part isn't even there. It makes no difference at all.
If you're looking for jack plugs for your pedalboard project you'll presumably need more than three and Musikding sell that exact type for €0.90 each, cheaper if you buy more (€0.75 each for 10), though there will be shipping added. They also sell quality cable relatively cheaply, listed under 'wire' on the left.

Shabba.
Ooh, not bad. That same seller is also selling them in packs of 10 (or twenty? Hard to tell, the description says 10 but the title says x20 so I'm not sure) for 3.99 with 3.49 shipping and 2.49 for additional orders which actually seems to work out cheaper for two packs. Also, plenty of eBay sellers seem to have a some cheap Van Damme/Lynx cable going fairly cheap, too.
