I was thinking of buying the mustang body, but then my girlfriend said I have enough guitars..
And talked me into synth, I took credit card credit.
And Friday my Microkorg is arriving,
Im so excited.

Been dreaming about that synth for three years.

(some of You said that the Micron should be a better choice, or take the XL.. but the Korgs appeal and build quality convinced me..
I know its foolish to judge by the looks.. but it sounds great too..)

Cant wait.

(sorry for the dumb post, just.. very happy.. these kind of 'big' music related purchases for me are a huge thing)

Well, Im thankful anyways, she pushed me towards my synthing dream.
She actually enjoys the looks and the feel of guitars, and dosnt look bored when I talk about them.

Microkorgs are ace and endless fun. Despite the mini keys it is a pro instrument make no mistake. Have fun

I'd like a Microkorg. Instead of spending a fortune on a bunch of moogs and rolands. I'd must rather get that and make some music.

I was stoked when I saw one on stage in a Radiohead concert/ Sigur Ros / Mum / Amiina / The Strokes (i think) and Stereo Total / if Im not mistaken even Arcade Fire..
Really like those bands.

There's a patch in there that sounds like a dead ringer for "Eple" by Royksopp.

Micro Korgs are awesome! My brother has one, I don't like the smaller keys but I love playing around with it. I wish they made a model with bigger keys.

I'm not really a fan of the alesis micron. I found it to be much less user friendly than the microkorg.

I know Emily Haines of Metric uses them. So do Mates of State

Shit, just about every band with a synth in it these days uses a Microkorg. I've used mine live plenty of times for the combo organ sound. It sounds huge and is pretty rugged.

Justice actually uses microKorg.

anyone else thinking of buying a microkorg? i get them around 300 bucks new from work...

I'm thinking of getting one, but sadly all my money is earmarked for something else (isn't it always?). Man, I'd love a MicroKorg/XL/Alesis Micron/Akai Miniak.

I even thought of trading my guitar for a synth.. oh the horror.

i got a microkorg on a whim back when people were naive enough to trust mortgage brokers, which netted me some money.
i had to sell it after the market collapse.
fortuantley i sold it to a band mate.
so i still use it.

The small keys, I dont know, Ive been playing synths in ableton on my computer keyboard for some time and
havent found it a problem, actually.

They are fun indeed, I sold mine to Johno.. still miss the little guy every now and then. The MicroKorg, I mean.

Good buy! There's no shame in being excited about it. I think a capable synth is a tool every guitarist should have.

When faced with a similar choice a few years ago, I ended up going with the Alesis Micron because of its greater feature set and better keys. I just couldn't get past the tiny keys on the microKORG.

Be warned, however: if you continue down this road, you'll certainly be bitten by the bug and want to acquire more synth-related gear.

How have you liked your Micron? Been thinking about getting instead of an MicroKorg (but in reality it comes down to which one I can get a better deal on).
