thoughts people? sorry if there is any thread regarding this bass.

They're only mentioned in a thread on new Squires in the other guitars forum... it's appropriate to give them a home here.

Thoughts - it's about time that the Jag bass was made a shortscale; should have been from the start. It's too bad that Fender hasn't made a shorty Jag Bass... I'd love a Fender, chrome and all, in a 30" scale.

These are a great looking piece of bass, and I'd love to grab one or two.

Yeah, when my girlfriend moves to England for a year and takes the only bass in the house with her, I'm gonna have a hard time deciding between a Bronco bass or a Jag SS bass.

Though the colours on the Jag basses are fugly. Matching headstocks though woo!

Fuck. Just when I thought I was out. they pull me back in.

Specs seem fucking perfect. If it's priced anything like some of the other Jaguar basses ($199 and $299), buying one as soon as it comes out. Might sell Mustang Bass for this.

im going to keep telling you guys the same thing. i got my mustang bass for 300 bucks used at guitar center.

GC is run by dudes that SHRED and MELT FACES. they don't know jack shit about short scale guitars, and sell them for stupid prices.

i payed 300 for my mustang bass and 1200 for my fiesta red AVRI jaguar which is pretty much rare as unicorn shit.

keep checking the used section of GC every fucking day and strike gold. find a mustang bass or a musicmaster bass for 300 bucks and you are a WINNER

I bought my Bronco Bass for $90, I bought my Musicmaster Bass for $300, and my Mustang Bass for about $425. So what? I love them all, but this is a sweet bass, and will let me use all the various fun bass pickups that I can't use on my Mustang Bass, and looks good too. The Mustang Bass is the most difficult to hot-rod bass in the Fender lineup and I hate that about it.

No way, I would think. The neck looks quite different, also 20 fret neck, and it doesn't seem as "deep" in the pocket as the Mustang Bass neck.

+1. I got my AVRI Jaguar on used GC for $700. I think they thought it was a Japanese Jag when they priced it. Both the manager and Salesman acknowledged the mistake but still gave me the deal. Most of the GC guys are really ignorant about short scales as Robroe said.

Isn't the street price on the jag bass 169? I thought it was stupid cheap and 100% worth it.

Musicmaster bass at the SF store is going for like, $700. There's a used Mustang bass going for around $500, but it's a RI. This Jag SS might be the best we can get around here.

Street price on current Squier Jag bass is $300 I think.

No but I'm not picky, and I haven't met a short scale bass I didn't like.
