I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, but it seems like most people I've talked to that have owned both a Jaguar and a Mustang seem to prefer the Mustang, whereas everyone else in the world seems to prefer the Jaguar. Have you noticed this to be the case, or am I just projecting myself onto others?

didn't we have this thread a while back? or was it a general 'which shortscale' thread?

everyone will say "i like mustangs but i like jaguars better". you'll see.

But of those people, I'd kind of like to know which of those people own which guitars.

i love both
they each have their own devices

I even made a video comparing them... I have owned both. The Jaguar is the best looking guitar ever made, though I do prefer the mustang neck. I am back and forth on which one I like more.

I think that jags look flashier and have more indie cred because of countless bands that use them.
Mustangs are associated with Kurt Cobain, which annoys me since he took away their signature sound by sticking nasty humbuckers in them.

However, I love my mustang that I bought instead of a jaguar, which was what I orignally wanted. I've actually never even played a jaguar.

(And on a slightly unrelated note: The ONLY good record involving the kurdtz is his collaboration with Burroughs.)

But he might single-handedly be responsible for the destruction of the Jaguar lineup. Just look at it now.

I have owned both. I currently own a Jaguar. Sounds and feels better to me.

Love Jaguars, but when I play a shortscale, I love the blue collar appeal of Musicmaster/Mustang family guitars.
