Hey guys,
Im about to have my musicmaster body refinished and a second pickup is going in.
Its a late 70s one with the full pickguard.
Obviously with it being refinished i can cover up screw holes and so on.

So would a mustang pickguard and plate fit?
similar to the older musicmasters
With the bridge and so on
any slight modifications to pickguard and body is fine.

should work, but there's going to be different screw placement, so you'll have to leave the ones up top for phase switches empty, and make new holes in a few other spots.

what color is your musicmaster pickguard?

It'll be going into a body that's about to be refinished so i can size it all up and close up any old screw holes and make any new ones as well as route for the switches
and the new pickguard will be white white...the body is getting resprayed sonic blue.

my current pick guard is black but it has been routed for a bucker
i was going to just get a new one made in white but i quite feel like converting it to a mustang

Was going to do it natural but after removing the white finish i found another finish where someone had stained it Green and it had soaked in way to much on the end grain.....i get the feeling its been refinished shoddily a few times and by the looks of it the electrics are fucked..soooooo im returning it to some former glory.

if you decide to sell either vol/tone pot, let me know.

I have the pots and cap if you want them....also the original knobs...but the threads have gone from the inside of the knobs so they just turn on the pot head rather then the pot.

this is what im going for

The parts will fit fine, but because it's a '78 you're stuck with that wonky top horn, so it won't look quite the same.

i think its a 77 actually....and i hadnt really noticed the horn but its not a bother....the great neck is all i need
