The Edge uses or has used just about everything credible at some point or other.
But, what would be cool is if the Edge used a £50 Spongebob Strat to record the next U2 album and toured it extensively.

I'd do a show or two in place of the Edge if they asked. How hard could it be? Couple of nights would set me up for life. Hell, I'd even supply my own beanie.

but they may just be there as props for the video
and the song may have been recorded with something else

I always try to give the Edge credit for being inventive and experimenting with guitar sounds considering it's 1983 right now.
It wouldn't surprise me to see him use anything guitar-related. It would surprise me a lot more to see him use a Strat through an AC30 for every guitar track for the rest of his life. That'd be straight fucked compared to him using a hiwatt for a video shoot.
