It might work with f-holes that aren't f-shaped, like curved, nearly s-shaped slits. Sort of like the diamond ones on the Dave Grohl guitar. Except not diamonds.

This would also mean you have to wear sports wrist bands to stop the edge shaving skin off your arm whilst playing Iron Maiden riffs.

Not necessarily. They could have curved the binding to follow the arm-cut, like this:

... buuuut, it doesn't look like they did, based on any images I've seen of them. They all look to be uncontoured.


I really want to like these, I really do, but I just can't get on with the damn f-hole. It's the only thing I don't like. I can deal with the lack of contour, but, the hole is garrish. I more elegant design would have played off handsomely.
