Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on replacing the nut on my (not quite) refurbished Mustang.
I know this photo doesn't really show the nut very well, but it's the only one I have and the guitar is at my parents house right now. It's got a few little problems that keep me from bringing it to school to use in class. I really want to fix it up over the summer so it can replace my strat as my main guitar in school.
Anyway, first on the list is the nut. Whoever owned the neck before me cut a new nut poorly and it's all pretty much fucked. The slots don't line up properly, they're all at different levels, and it's just got sharp sloppy corners that are too short to fill the whole slot.
I want to buy a new pre-cut one but I can't find any A width Fender style nuts anywhere. Does anyone know where I could find that? If not, any tips or experiences with making a new nut for an A width and what I would need?
Thanks!
New Nut for an 'A' Width Neck

i recommend you first than all , take photos of shape original nut.
take measures of size. so you can copy it. best you can do is a copy of original whit new string slots.
graphite is easier to work than bone and also more tremolo friend.
