Anyone any idea what model it is?
It's crafted in Japan, has body contours.
It did have White pickup covers, I swapped them for black, and has a mint green pickguard.
Bridge pickup has been swapped for a DiMarzio thing, and was 'rewired by someone who knew what they were doing.' Obviously not though as I've just had to reverse one of the switches as it was backwards, not too bad really though.

Looks like a '69RI (contours, no pickguard gap, no white button tuners) with a replacement guard - much nicer cosmetics than the original horrible brown tort these had.

Thanks Mike
There is a pickguard gap, but as you say it is probably a replacement guard and so it must come from that.
Just need to get it setup for 11s and it's ready to go! No idea why Fender shorts ales always come with 9s!?
Looked like this with white pickup covers:

Haha definitely looks it!
If the pickguard was White and not mint green I may have kept the pickup covers white, but seeing as nothing else on the guitar was White, it didnt really match.

I had a '69 RI with a replacement guard as well. Kinman pickups, too.
When I think about how I sold this guitar for $500 (the Kinmans cost half that alone), I want to cry, then I remember that I never really liked that guitar.
