Why? You can make your own Tele like that for a fraction of the price and without the weird headstock.

I like the headstock. And while I am sure that YOU could make your own Tele for a fraction of that price, I assure you that I could not.

I think he means buy a black tele, get those pickups, a bigsby and a chrome pickguard, or having one built with Warmoth parts. Even if you paid a shop to do the work it would be way less than that one.
I think that one's inflated due to the signature...I've seen that guitar in shops before, never for anywhere close to that price. I thought I remembered it being less than $1000, before the Fender price increases anyway.

3200 ack!
i have no idea what it's value is, but I'm not sure how much more a 3200 dollar guitar can offer me over a 1000 dollar guitar
diminishing returns and whatnot

That guitar is not worth more than $500. I think the guy is trying to sell it for more because it's got John 5's actual signature on the back OMGZ!!!!
Nonetheless, I like shiny things. And that guitar is very shiny.

John 5 headstock > normal Tele headstock
Do not want chrome pickguard and that price is stupid.

you may be interested in the latest version of the Pete Dee schecter, it's similar. i will almost guarantee it will play better than the fender. i dunno i seem to be bonering over schecter playability lately.

I think the price may be from the fact that it's a Custom Shop model, and not a standard production John 5 tele, but that's just my guess

Well it IS a Custom Shop and it IS autographed .. In those cases the price seems about right . But for me ? Na. Rather buy a the " Average Joe " one and customize it . Preferably the 3HB one and throw a Bigsby on that thing .
I've seen a white Pete Dee . They are sweet .. These new black and chrome jobs look sweeter ..
