Hi everybody
Few months ago picked up a Harmony H 62 from 1955-1956

It is one of the first series, since it does not have a trussrod. Looks all originall

Guitars plays excellent, sounds beautifull... Pick ups are old (1940ties) P13s from Gibson. Bridge pick up has an issue and needs some work I guess...

I still dont know if it is a keeper or not.
I always am playing my coronado (and I am kind of a fender man)

enjoy!

Very cool, would scare me not having a truss rod though.

If it's not a problem after this long it's unlikely to become one soon unless you leave it next to a radiator or some other environment that won't do the wood any favours.

Thats very true I suppose as long as its in a stable environment it'd be fine. Are those pickups single coil? They look very interesting.

You could conceivably have a truss rod installed if you really wanted to. But as has already been said, if it hasn't become a problem yet then it'll probably be fine.

They are indeed single coil, and are Gibson made.

That guitar looks awesome! I love those old harmony hollow bodies!

I like it!

I had an old Harmony Stratotone once that didn't come with a truss rod. The neck was straight as an arrow and had no dead spots. At the same time I've had guitars WITH truss rods whose necks were warped beyond reasonable repair. That said, I think truss rods are over rated if the neck is fat enough.
