Fuck this guitar is awesome! Its beat to hell and the finish is shit but I love it.
65ri neck pu is lovely, lace old pickup is twangy yet lacking bite. Will likely get a 65ri in the bridge as well or other like-minded vintagey pickup. Jap trem is smooth, no lock somehow. Buzz stop is on for chrome mojo and because I've never tried one before.
Not bad with a $50 neck on it

As soon as I can put it down it will get black robroe, switches and painted PANK

I love Bilinda Mustangs. <3
Is that a Lace Gold? The Lace Hot Golds have quite a bit more going on, but yeah, the 65' RI is probably a better match, esp. since it hum-cancels with the neck.

Did you do a straight Body swap for your Musicmaster body? Once you swap the pickup, it will be a 65 RI with Jag Trem?

I haven't seen the routes yet though, may spark an idea

I would keep the Mustang pickups, especially if you don't have the Musicmaster anymore.

Traded the musicmaster + an agreed compensation.
The bridge pickup swtch is on-off-off
Series/parallel options are reversed as well.
I did peek under the control plate, not happy with the wiring. I am a bit biased/picky though!
the contours are a bit wonky but it's certainly more comfortable than my tele after long practices. Definitely helps that it has my favorite neck on it

That looks like so much fun, I'd totally get my wobble on and rock that out.
Just curious, did the trem have no hole for the lock switch on the plate, or was the whole thing removed?

After seeing my Musicmaster wiring harness you made for me, I understand why you are picky. You do very good work. Do you think you will start over or just bring it up to HazeFX specs? I will definitely need some advice when I get both my Mustang projects going. I plan to do one traditional Mustang wiring (Mullet-Stang) and other (Pink or Seafoam stang) with at least an extra series option or more.

Very beautiful guitar, the Jag trem looks natural on it if I do say so myself, took me several whole seconds to realize it wasn't a stock mustang with bronco knobs and a black neck pu cover

it's a pretty great guitar. i'd vote for keeping the pickups in it. i think the combi sounded great.
sweet acquisition.

Probably going to lightly sand and krylon over the blue so it will age through

that finish is already thin enough to take off with your thumbnail . . . see the scratch on the forearm contour? whoops

Looks like a peach! Well done.
I found Lace Sensors to be dull and boring unless playing at a decent loud volume (hence the lack of bite I bet), but if swapping I would check the CIJ Jag pups have been wax potted first. Mine weren't:
Me: SQUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Bandmates: ARGH MY FUCKING EARS!

I think it's one of my all-time favorite neck and middle pickups. For the bridge, it leaves a little to be desired, Lace has many other options for the bridge, like Hot Gold, Hot Gold Bridge, Blue, Red, etc.
