NGD sg junior copy

Got this today, i love the sg juniors and i dont have enough dough for a gibson.

the brand is diamond "beat master" im guessing it was made in the 70's maybe in japan, its a really good copy and has a set neck.
ive taken a picture of the neck joint is that a long tenon?

the frets are great and it plays even better, the only thing is the intonation is a bit off and i can seem to get it right, so ive ordered a wraparound bridge with individual string saddles.

anyway heres some pictures, does anyone have a clue as to when this was made and any info etc...? im thinking it could be made by aria diamond in the 70's but ive looked on the net and found absolutely nothing except one guy said he had one ages ago.

Ooh that's very nice - I love SG Juniors. That is a long neck tenon, so well done you. Can't find much out about the brand, except that it might be made by Aria. But only might.

Whip the P90 out and post a pic of the back of it - that would help identify it.

+1. They seemed to use 'Diamond' for several 70's models.

hehe thanks guys,ive already got an epiphone sg custom with the old style vibrola on it pat but i was thinking a bigsby ,but i dont really want to drill holes in it.
if it is 70's its hardly been played the frets arent dented or anything, maybe theyve been replaced.

all i know is im going to play the crap out of it

i may change the pickup/pots to something better depending on how it sounds.
I havent tried it with my setup yet so well see how we go

that thing is pretty badass, i literally bought an epi les paul jr today for 70 bucks with the hard case, im going to give it a whirl and flip it for 150 to a local, but its no where near as badass as that thing.

yeh im loving it, i just gave it a play through my setup and i sounds great i think ill leave the pickup in there.

im using a danelectro french toast,DS1 and dunlop fuzz wah, and it sounds excellent with all of them.

definelty a keeper.

bigsby would be the shit, hell yeah!

you can buy one of them vibramate plates, so you don't have to drill any holes into the guitar, just use the 2 bridge studs.
if you don't know those, look 'em up.

Since there's only one set of stud holes for the wrap-around, I don't think the vibramate would work in this case. You'd just have the bigsby no bridge.

I would buy a Junior DC from exactly the same brand Diamond Beat Master, and really want to know if your Junior has this intonation problems probably from the neck..

Seems like Diamond was an Australiasian thing, lots of cheapo Diamonds over the ditch here aswell. Usually they're bolt-neck pieces of shit, very similar to hondos of that era.

hehe been a while since i got this guitar, but i still have it
i sorted out the intonation with a bridge that has the G and b strings for normal strings not the mounted ones and its great now.

and the quality is excellent the tuners have been replaced, and the pickup could be replaced, its not bad just a bit muddy sometimes.
