If you can not tell, I HATE Steve Vai as a muscian though so I maybe a bit biased.... but thats ok cause he sucks.
I'd say I puked a little in my mouth, but that would be insulting my puke...which happens to taste much better than this guitar would..

Nah, I don't think they're terrible. A product of the 80's for sure, but at least they didn't half-ass a splash of color- the whole thing's a goddamn neon rainbow.
I assume the neck is flat and the pickups are RED HAWT. Those'd be my big turn-offs, aside from the dorky handle and overall pointedness. Never played one of those dive bomb tremolos though.

The 777LNG is probably my favourite guitar of all time, I only wish I had been born earlier so that I could've bought one when they first came out.

i'm not a fan of superstrats but I've always had a soft spot for the JEMs, mainly because of the hand hole I think (I am a usability consultant) and also I like the extremes of taste. I can think of a lot more guitars I would rather not own than this though. I really like the green on as well

Lose the grab hole and middle pickup and i'd use one. Like RG's, they are very comfortable guitars to play.

OP forgot this one from the original years (well 2nd year, 1988 ) ...
The Humbuckers on the original JEMs were DiMarzio PAF Pros so I wouldn't say they were RED HAWT
