Sunn mustang tweaks - advice needed

Post by ploppy »

Finally started some jobs on my sunn mustang today - i'll get piccys up as soon as the batteries recharge in my camera.
Anyways, first off, i've wired in the two RI jag pups recieved off mike a few weeks back (many thanks again mike!) and alls ok,
next i'm wondering whether to cover the cavity in copper tape to lower any hum or noise?
What do you guys reckon?worth doing or a waste of time?
Also looking at the pots, under the blobs of solder i can partially see A5** and not 250 so i'm guessing the pots are 500meg?Should i change these - i thought 500 meg pots were used on humbuckers?

They'll be 500K ohm not 500M ohm. The 'A' prefix means audio or logarithmic taper. I think 'B' is linear. A larger value brightens the sound a bit.

Active Pickups - 25K

Passive Pickups - 250K, 500K & 1 Meg

I'd definitely would do the shielding in the cavities and on the pickguard.
