Ordered a blacktop tele a few weeks ago and when it arrived one of the pickups wasn’t working so back it went. Got the replacement this morning and there’s a crack in the finish and a slight dent just above the crack.

FUCK!!!!!!!!

Give it up. The manufacturing standards are clearly poor.

If you can live with it maybe try and ask for a partial refund or gift certificates.

Well, I'm betting the replacement has probably sat in it's box since the factory. If it is shipping then Fender fucked up because they didn't pack it properly.

That's what happens when you put 2 humbuckers in a tele.

Plugged one in saturday at the shop, & it wasn't working.
Loose wire was to blame.

Got a £50 refund and a set of strings. So I’ll be keeping this one as it plays well and sounds good. if it was a shipping problem it was Fender what done it, cause the box and all the packaging were undamaged. apart from the obvious finish problem the fit is tip top.

Yep; and after a day of living with me new guitar I’ve come across another reason Fender need a good kick in the nuts. The string tree for the b & e strings is screwed right down on to the head stock creating a string break angle that makes fine tuning adjustments near impossible... so I’ve had to order a new roller tree. Not exactly a big outlay but surely someone at fender might have thought this would be a problem.
