I love my 78' Musicmaster. The size is so perfect and the simplicty of the guitar is so inviting. Congrats on your new purchase.

That looks like a Silver Lace Sensor. It's the one Lace color I've never tried but considering how much I love Hot Gold, Gold, Blue, and Red, I have to think it sounds fantastic.

sucks about the replaced tuner, but a great score nonetheless.
resize your pics before you post them, pls.

Tuners not replaced, there all original Kluson Deluxe. Just doesn't show up good in the pics! At any rate, I freaking love this thing! I've got a duo sonic replacement pearl guard with wire switches in it that I will probably put on it so I can hook up both pups! The neck pup is not hooked up now.

What's the serial number on the neckplate? Use an X for the last two digits for security reasons, but if you can list that, we can help you date it...
The reason I ask is - that doesn't look like a '65 to me. The pickguard is right, the logo on the peghead is right, and the tuners (five of them) are right... but the back has a tummy cut, and the contoured bodies didn't hit until '69.
There may be some date / model codes on the heel of the neck. If you ever pull the neck off, make sure you snap a couple of pics of any writing or stamps you see there.
Nice looking guitar - even in the black. If the finish is truly ugly, you can always refinish the body, but I don't think it looks bad, and for $450, even if it IS a '69, or has parts from '65 on a later era body, it's still a sweet score! Congrats!

oh shit, phil, good eye on the contour. could be a partsonicII.
not to be prickish, but what sort of 'security reasons' can arise from printing the full serial number? replication and/or fraud?
