Wiring a 3PDT with bypass and LED

I am working on a Klon(Trying to see what the fuss is about) project from a different forum(not sure if I can post layout) but am confused about how to wire a battery to it

This is how I wired it but its not working and I am not confident it is right. Is it?

The vero layout is from a diy stomp box forum and I wasnt sure if I could post it here in its entirety. If mods think its fine.
I could post the whole thing.

Did you doctor this yourself? The switch wiring looks wrong to me.

You can't just connect the FX output and the buffer out together like that. I guess you're trying to make the Klon TB, and so dump the buffer, right?

Is the 9V connected right?

I could just cut the buffer out and be fine?

Please post a link to the DIY stompbox forum article so we can see the whole schematic/layout. At the moment I can't make sense of it.

Agreed.

But you're also switching 9V on a 3PDT which I never do, it's just bad practise.

Connect the 9V to the LED anode and the 9V input the board.

Connect the LED cathode via a current limiting resistor to the top right lug on the switch
Connect the middle right lug of the switch to ground.

Use an input grounded scheme and you'll have quieter (no pop) switching.

However (and this is a big one) - the Klon eats batteries. Get a power supply you planet hater, jim.

Yeah it's a buffered bypass. You only need a DPDT. Connect the LED on one side of the DPDT. Use the other half of the DPDT to switch between effect out and buffered output to the output jack.

I still want to know who drew that out connecting the FX output and buffer out together - that's batty

I've just been looking at Martin Chittum's schematic and what you've listed has a couple of errors. For a start, "LED Switch Ground"is connected to the live side of the clipping diodes - it needs to go to ground. Disconnect the wire and resistor "buffer out" - you don't want to connect the buffered clean signal and the XF output. Follow Mike's advice to put the 3k9-or-adjust-to-taste resistor on the 9V side of the switch.

Rewired the 3PDT as per Mikes suggestion the Bypass worked but when I hit the switch it made a a constant beep which has its volume controlled by the volume knob so Im going to make an audio probe and follow the signal. Does anyone have an idea based on the constant beep.

I need to go buy a 2PDT which I think I will if its not the actual circuit but rather the switching causing problems

You can test if the circuit works by breadboarding (or even just soldering) the input and output jacks directly to the effect in/out respectively. Leave the buffer out dangling for the moment. That'll at least tell you if this is gonna fly before you worry about switching.
