It's a Jazzmaster Party on YouTube

I feel bad saying that I have never really gotten to listen to Sonic Youth, but this song really blew me away. The best part was all the Jazzmaster guitars on stage at once. I loved both Thurston and Lee's signature JMs. I also thought the black covers on the J. Mascis Jazzmaster looked great. It had a nice sound on the delay guitar parts. I love how they just jam as a band even without hugh solo just an organic feel to the whole thing.

I loved this one too. Loved the Jag with the matching headstock.

Never listened too much SY either, and never really liked what little I heard, but that second song is bitchin. It sounds like a noisy rock song instead of just NOIZE/RAWK.

I can't see the youtube vids at work. I'm a big SY fan, just wondering if you know what songs are on the clips and I could recommend further listening if anyone's interested.

They're both on The Eternal so that would be a good place to start. It's their most recent album, these days they tend to write more 'songs' but their records are still worth listening to. Also try Sonic Nurse, Murray Street and Rather Ripped are also popular but I prefer Nurse.

My other favourite records are Sister, Evol, Daydream Nation, Goo, Dirty & Washing Machine.

I like on the Antenna song when they strum down by the tailpiece. Sounds really cool.

They do that quite a lot. At least one of Lee's guitars has a pickup down there.
