Anyone handwound there own pickups?
Fancy having a go on a dead pup i have and it seems fairly straightforward but are the results likely to be any good?
Thoughts anyone?
Well i finally sent the pup to catswhisker last friday and got it back yesterday - very pleased, rewound, rewired, cleaned and wax potted all for just under 18 pounds which included postage.
You can even see the original pencil date on the underside now 11-3-67.
Hopefully gonna fit it tonight.

Yes, thats the one, i haven't fitted it yet tho.
I did try rewinding myself using a contraption i devised connected to a drill but the wire kept snapping.
For the money tho, in hindsight i think it was well worth it.
If you have a fixed vice an electric drill will do, sewing machine is better as you can use the pedal to go faster at times once you've got it going. I plan to have a crack at making some buckers and P90s as well.
